You should not have to educate your therapist
LGBTQ+ folks deal with the same stress, anxiety, bills, and bad weeks as everyone else.
Plus the extra weight of discrimination, family tension, coming-out decisions, and systems that were not built with you in mind.
Your identity is respected here from the first session, and it isn’t something we’re trying to fix.
What it can look like
What we might work on
- Anxiety about coming out, or about being out
- Family or relationship stress tied to identity
- Exploring or questioning identity
- Dealing with discrimination and minority stress
- Finding community and your people
- Everyday problems, with a therapist who already knows the context
How I approach it
You set the agenda
I provide affirming, gender-affirming, and culturally responsive care. We might spend a session on identity, or on work stress that has nothing to do with identity at all. You decide what we focus on.
You are not a debate
You are not a diagnosis.
You are a whole person, and that is who I work with.
Before you book
Common questions
Do I have to be out to work with you?
No. You share what you want, when you want.
Will you use my name and pronouns?
Yes. If your insurance has a different legal name on file, we can talk about how that shows up in billing so there are no surprises.
Ready when you are
Book a time on my scheduling page. It works the same way whether you use insurance, Medicare, or pay privately, and you can add your insurance when you book. Questions first? Call 754.400.0824 or send me a message.
What it costs: your plan’s copay or coinsurance if I am in network, 20% after the deductible with Original Medicare, or the private pay rate. See costs
