ADHD is not a character flaw

It is not laziness.

It is not a lack of caring.

ADHD is a difference in how attention, motivation, and executive function work. For a lot of adults it went unnoticed for years, buried under labels like disorganized, too much, or not living up to potential.

Therapy can help you learn how your brain works and set up your days around it, so you spend less energy fighting it.

What it can look like

Sound familiar?

  • Starting tasks feels impossible until deadline panic kicks in
  • Losing track of time, appointments, or bills
  • Hyperfocus on some things and zero traction on others
  • Criticism or rejection hitting harder than it seems like it should
  • Burnout from working twice as hard just to look fine
  • Anxiety or depression riding along with it

How I approach it

Building around how your brain works

We look at where things actually get stuck and build systems that fit your life, not a productivity influencer’s.

Therapy may include

  • Understanding your own patterns of attention and energy
  • Practical structure for time, tasks, and routines
  • Working on the shame and self-criticism left over from years of being told to try harder
  • Emotional regulation skills
  • Coordinating with your prescriber, with your permission, if you take medication

I don’t provide ADHD testing or prescribe medication. If you need an evaluation, I can point you toward options.

Neurodivergent is not broken

The goal is not to make you neurotypical.

The goal is a life that works with the brain you have.

Common questions

Do I need a diagnosis to work on ADHD?

No. If you suspect ADHD, we can work on what is getting in the way right now. If a formal evaluation would help, I can share where to get one.

Do you prescribe ADHD medication?

No. I am a therapist, not a prescriber. Therapy and medication can work well together, and with your permission I can coordinate with your prescriber.

Ready when you are

Book a time on my scheduling page. It works the same way for insurance, Medicare, and private pay, and you can add your insurance when you book. Questions first? Call 754.400.0824 or send me a message.

What it costs: your plan’s copay or coinsurance if I am in network, 20% after the deductible with Original Medicare, or the private pay rate. See costs
