Grief comes in more shapes than people expect
Grief is not a problem to solve.
It is the cost of having loved something or someone.
It shows up after deaths, and also after divorces, diagnoses, lost jobs, lost friendships, and lives that did not go the way you planned.
Sometimes it is loud.
Sometimes it is quiet and shows up months later in the cereal aisle.
What it can look like
Sound familiar?
- Waves of sadness that come out of nowhere
- Feeling numb or disconnected
- Guilt about what you did or did not do
- Anger, including at the person you lost
- Trouble sleeping, eating, or focusing
- Feeling like everyone else has moved on
How I approach it
Making room for it
We don't rush grief or try to tie it up with a bow. You get room to feel what you feel, and we work on what's getting in the way of daily life so the loss doesn't have to run everything.
Therapy may include
- Talking about the person or what you lost, without a time limit
- Making sense of complicated or mixed feelings
- Getting through anniversaries, holidays, and triggers
- Rebuilding routine and connection
- Noticing when grief and depression overlap
Grief doesn't have a deadline
There is no timeline you are failing.
Moving forward is not the same as moving on.

Common questions
Is it normal to still be grieving after a year?
Yes. Grief often changes shape over time instead of ending. If it is making daily life very hard for a long stretch, therapy can help.
Do I have to talk about the loss in detail?
No. We go at your pace, and you decide what to share and when.
Ready when you are
