How it works
How Medicare covers therapy
Medicare Part B covers outpatient therapy with a licensed clinical social worker, including sessions by video from your home.
I am a participating Medicare provider. That means I accept Medicare’s approved amount as payment in full and bill Medicare for you.
In 2026, you pay the Part B deductible ($283) and then 20% of the Medicare-approved amount. If you have a Medigap (supplemental) plan, it may cover some or all of that 20%.
Because I participate in Medicare, I cannot accept private pay from Original Medicare members for covered therapy.
Part C
Medicare Advantage is separate
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are run by private insurance companies, and each one has its own network. My applications with several Medicare Advantage plans are still in progress. Check the plan list for the latest status on each.
In person?
Do I need to come in person?
Not right now. Medicare’s telehealth rules for therapy at home are in place through December 31, 2027.
Medicare may add an in-person visit requirement starting in 2028. If it does, you'll hear it from me well in advance, and we'll work out what to do together.
Tech help
Not great with tech? We'll manage.
- A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera all work
- A family member or friend can get you connected the first time, then leave the room
- We can try a quick test call before your first real session
- If the video freezes partway through, we can finish on the phone
Before you book
Common questions
Can I see you if I spend part of the year outside Florida?
Only while you are in Florida. I am licensed in Florida, so you need to be in the state during each session. If you spend summers up north, we can plan a break before you go, or I can help you find someone where you'll be.
How do I book as a Medicare member?
Go to my scheduling page and pick Medicare when it asks for insurance. Keep your red, white, and blue Medicare card nearby, along with your supplemental plan card if you have one.
Ready when you are
My scheduling page handles insurance, Medicare, and private pay the same way, and you can add your coverage while you book. Rather talk to a person first? Call 754.400.0824 or send me a message.
What it costs: your plan’s copay or coinsurance if I am in network, 20% after the deductible with Original Medicare, or the private pay rate. See costs
For the curious
Want to nerd out on the research?
Nothing here is required reading. These are Medicare's own pages on mental health coverage and telehealth, if you'd rather hear it straight from them.
