Privacy Policy
Effective September 2, 2026
This policy explains what information this website collects, how I use it, and the choices you have. It applies to jamesrobertsmentalwellness.com only. It is written in plain language on purpose. If something is unclear, please ask.
Who I am
This site belongs to James Roberts, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida (license number SW27230). It is a professional profile and a place to reach me about workshops, collaborations, and events. It is not a client portal, and no therapy is provided through it.
What this site collects
- Contact form. When you send a message, I receive the name, email address, phone number (if you include one), and message you type. The form is delivered to my email inbox.
- Server logs. Like most websites, my hosting provider records basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. I use these only to keep the site running and secure.
- Accessibility preferences. The accessibility widget on this site (UserWay) may save the settings you choose, such as text size or contrast, in your browser so they are remembered next time.
I do not run advertising trackers, sell advertising, or build marketing lists from visitors to this site.
Please do not send health information through this site
The contact form is for general inquiries, collaborations, and event requests. It travels over email, which is not an encrypted or HIPAA secure channel, so please do not share personal details about your mental health or anyone else’s. If we later decide to work together as therapist and client, you will receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices that explains how your health information is protected under HIPAA and Florida law.
How I use your information
- To reply to your message and follow up on what you asked about.
- To plan and coordinate workshops, events, and collaborations you contacted me about.
- To keep the site working, safe, and accessible.
I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who can see it
The companies that make this site work can process your information on my behalf: my web hosting provider, my email provider, and the accessibility widget provider. They are only allowed to use it to provide their service. I may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request, or to protect someone’s safety where Florida law requires me to act.
How long I keep it
Contact form messages stay in my email for as long as I need them to respond and follow up. You can ask me to delete your messages at any time.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it by emailing Contact@JamesRobertsMentalWellness.com. You can also change or turn off the accessibility widget preferences in your browser at any time.
Links to other websites
This site links to outside resources such as the 988 Lifeline, the Florida Department of Health, and social media. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I am not responsible for how they handle your information.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent me information, please contact me and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I will update the effective date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be noted here.
